Uptown Village

SETTING UP A SLAM DUNK in upscale Gainesville apartment living.

THE PROJECT: In July 2014, Catalyst purchased Uptown Village – a 322 unit, luxury garden style community in Gainesville, FL. The property was originally named Uptown Village at Townsend. The community was built in 2005, targeting residents who enjoy proximity to Downtown Gainesville and University of Florida, and desired the amenities of an upscale community, but removed from the neighboring collegiate lifestyle. In addition to typical amenities found in a luxury apartment community, Uptown Village boasts a full indoor basketball court, stadium-style theater, private garages, white sand beach volleyball court, as well as an on-site restaurant called The Red Onion.

THE CATALYST: In September 2014, Catalyst changed the property name to Uptown Village and redesigned all branding elements to be reflective of the contemporary resident population of young professionals and established executives. Catalyst also retrained onsite property managers to effectively promote the community to prospects and support existing residents.

THE RESULT: After rebranding Uptown Village, reestablishing Property Management stability, and creating marked rent growth, Catalyst Development Partners sold this community in January 2016.
