THE PROJECT: In Spring 2017, Catalyst broke ground on a new 281 unit, Class-A apartment community in Winter Springs, Florida. The 12-acre site was developed at a projected cost of $42 million to set a new benchmark in Winter Springs apartment living with this luxury, 3-level, garden-style community. Positioned on Michael Blake Boulevard, the community was effectively named The Blake as both associative of the local thoroughfare and to punctuate desired retro-contemporary brand personality. Unique to the market with ultra high-tech features and amenities, The Blake pulls influence from Mid-Century Modern designs and contemporary Scandinavian styling.

THE CATALYST: Winter Springs is a thriving and growing market just outside metro Orlando. Located .25 miles from FL-419 S/FL-434 E and Tuskawilla Road, The Blake provides commuting professionals with a lower cost alternative for luxury apartment living in close proximity to Metro Orlando. The Blake is situated adjacent to the Winter Springs Town Center and provides immediate access to the Seminole Trail bike path. Just 5 minutes away from Lake Jessup and close to Downtown Orlando, The Blake provides accessibility to highly desirable restaurants and shops. Within a quality school district, The Blake truly presents an ideal location for professionals and families to enjoy apartment living without sacrificing amenities. 

The Blake offers one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes ranging from 698 to 1,374 square feet. Ultra high-end interior finishes include: granite counters, subway tile backsplashes, two-tone cabinetry, and wood-inspired plank flooring. RESULTS: Pre-leasing for The Blake launched in Spring 2018 with first resident move-ins in November 2018. In November 2020, at nearly 95% leased, Catalyst sold The Blake for $62.2M.
